Frequently Asked Questions
Why is there not more space available for Working Actor positions?
This is to ensure the highest quality experience possible for our working actors! Christinna is known for the intimate nature of her classes where each student receives strong individualized attention. She believes in quality over quantity. Due to this commitment and the format of our workshop, we have to limit space otherwise the quality of the work
and overall productivity and effectiveness of the class could be compromised.
If I'm a beginning actor, should I apply for the Working Actor position?
No. This workshop is designed to address the needs and challenges of the professional actor who is actively auditioning in the Southeast market. If you are a new actor with little to no experience, you're likely to feel overwhelmed so you are strongly encouraged to not apply as a working actor, however, you are highly encouraged to register as an auditing actor as this will be a great way to expose yourself to the process and experience firsthand a professional level acting class.
I've previously participated as a Working Actor, should I apply again?
Yes, absolutely! In fact, you're likely to have a stronger workshop experience this time because you're building upon what you learned last time. The style of The Atlanta Workshops is one that makes all its events easily repeatable.
We all know that a lot can happen over time and it's easy to become rusty. By repeating the workshop you'll get powerfully re-infused with the technique and content that can set your work on fire once again, increasing your confidence and skill. Plus, Christinna keeps a highly organized record of scenes assigned to each actor at each workshop she teaches in order to ensure that repeat students always receive fresh new material each time.
I want to register as a Working Actor but I have to miss one of the days of the Technique Intensive.
Can I register for one day only, and pay half the amount?
No, on both counts. The Technique Intensive is a 2-day workshop. This workshop has been formatted and structured to maximize the scenework & content over a 2-day time frame so we can achieve the highest results for each actor.
If you are registering as a Working Actor, you are not paying for individual days of the workshop, but for the Technique Intensive as a whole event. Because space is limited for Working Actor positions, if you have to miss one of the days of the workshop once it has begun, there is no refund for the day you are absent, regardless of the reason. Please read our cancellation policy. We want you to get the most out of your workshop experience, so we strongly discourage you from applying as a Working Actor if you already know you'll have to miss one of the days of the workshop.
Can I bring my own material to work on in class?
No. All scenes will be selected and assigned to you, individually, by Christinna. However, she'll be available for a limited number of private coaching sessions during her stay in Atlanta if you'd like to set up an appt to work on your material.
Is lunch included in the price of the Technique Intensive?
No, your cost for the workshop does not cover your lunch. A 50-minute lunch break will be provided at 1:00 p.m.,
and you are responsible for providing your own lunch. There will be plenty of options for lunch in the area
where the workshop is being held, or you can bring your own bagged lunch.
Can I get a video copy of my on-camera work from class?
You will be able to see your work during the playback portion of class. If, however, if you'd like a video copy of your scenework, please make your request known at the time of the workshop since we do not keep or catalogue these video files for an extended period of time. Upon request, your raw video file will be emailed to you within 2-3 weeks of completing the workshop, in a Quicktime format, and the cost is $10/scene (you'll work on 3 scenes during the workshop). If you'd like a fully edited single video file with title card that includes all scenes you performed the total cost including editing is $25 (we'll accept cash/credit at the workshop, or we can invoice you thru Paypal or Square).
I'm interested in auditing the Technique Intensive, but for only one day. Can I pay for one day only?
Possibly. The option for auditing is for both days of the workshop, not just one. This is to give you the highest quality experience in observing the work from start to finish. You are not required to attend both days, however you are paying for both days so it's in your best interest to attend both days. If you have to miss one of the days, just be sure to let us know so we'll have an accurate accounting of attendance. There are no refunds once the workshop has started (please read our cancellation policy). If you are interested in registering as an Auditing Actor, but already know that you can only attend one day, if, after the registration deadline has passed, we still have auditor seats open we may be
able to offer you a one-day ticket as an auditor, or we can put you on an interest list in case one of our registered auditors has to cancel for one of the days. The cost for auditing the first day only is $125 and the cost for auditing the second day only is $75, and there are no discounts except that which is offered for attending both days ($155).
If this is your current situation, please apply now as an Auditing Actor and include these details in the comments
section of your application, then wait for a reply from us before completing your registration thru Paypal.
We do not guarantee seats will be open for you as an Auditor for one day only, so assume this at your own risk.
What if I register for a workshop event and then find that I have to cancel? Can I get a refund?
Please read our Cancellation Policy for all the specifics.
Why is the workshop limited to ages 18 & up?
The content of the workshop is designed for adults, not children. If, however, you are close to the age of 18 (16-17)
and have permission from your parents, you may fill out our application. Please be sure to designate your age.
Can I bring a friend or family member with me to the workshop?
No. Seats are limited and are reserved only for registered workshop participants.
